CORPORATE BULLYING‚Äč

- Keynote Speaker-

Bullying in the workplace is occurring at RAMPANT levels!  According to recent studies, one of out three people has been bullied in the workplace!  Three out of four bullies are the boss!  The person most often being bullies is one of the top performers!  Someone who the boss is threatened by.

Bullying is more than being a 'tough boss'.

Bullying is more than having a 'bad' day.

Bullying Is:

  • PERSONAL and DEMEANING....
  • INTENTIONAL
  • REPEATED OVER AND OVER

There are many types of 'Bully Bosses'.  Each of them requires different approaches to handle.  Anton Hout, founder of OvercomeBullying.org, identifies some of the types of Bully Bosses you may encounter:

  1. The Gatekeeper
    • This boss uses the clock like its a club.
    • They act like you are stealing from the company.
  2. The Constant Critic
    • Nothing satisfies this boss!
    • Your hairstyle, your clothes, the way you speak...ALL WRONG!
  3. The Screamer
    • You can hear them all over the office.
    • Everyone knows one of these.
    • One Screamer said:
      • "I don't get high blood pressure... I GIVE it!"

There are several other key types of bullies.  Once they are identified; its easier to get people to stand up and speak out.  It's similar to sexual harassment training.  Once you describe what the behavior is; its easier for people to call it out when it happens and stop it from occurring.

As many as 75% of employees have witnessed

someone being bullied or been bullied themselves!
